Energy-efficient servo drive. An extreme running-smoothness at a high dynamic characterizes the modern drive technology of the BOY E-Series. Up to now the maximum plasticizing volume for the machine types mentioned has been 10.2 cm³, but from the middle of this year the two injection moulding machines will have a maximum stroke volume of 15.3 cm³ as standard.
An extended screw stroke at a screw diameter of 18 mm and an injection force increased by 25 % makes this possible. Thus, the compact BOY XS (100 kN clamping force / 0.77 m² footprint) and the BOY XXS (63 kN / 0.89 m² footprint) have a significantly wider range of injection volumes in comparison to other machines in this clamping force class. These two BOY injection moulding machines do not use the piston plasticizing that is customary for this machine size, but instead rely on a screw plasticizing from 8 to 18 mm according to the "first in first out" principle. Maximum, specific injection pressures of up to 3128 bar are available.

Volumetric Dosers are suitable for balanced feeding of masterbatch, additive, and virgin material to the plastic process machine. The unit has a selection of four dosing screw sizes for different throughput needs. The unit can supports up to four sets of dosing screws for various material receipt.
Vertical Batch Mixers are mainly used for mixing plastics as raw materials, masterbatch and recycled materials. cannot be used dealing with plastic powder and all kinds of foods, chemicals, and inflammable, explosive and volatile materials. Bulk density should be taken into account when the dimension of material is uneven or in other forms.
Hopper Dryers are used for drying hygroscopic plastics, such as PS, PP, and ABS etc., which can reach the highest drying temperature up to 160℃. The double- layer insulation models can offer uniform drying temperature with less heat loss. In addition, multiple accessories are optional to realize different functions, such as recycling hot air and filtering metal impurities in the materials. The floor stand makes machine floor mount available.
Honeycomb dehumidifiers are mainly used to provide low dew point dry air, which can collocate with hopper dryer to process highly hygroscopic engineering plastics. This series of machines can reach an average dew point temperature of -40℃ with right setup and maximum drying air volume can reach 4,000m³/hr. If some dry materials are volatile, they must use EOF filter.
Single Phase Self-Contained Auto Loaders are mainly used for the following machines: injection moulding machines, extrusion machines or other machines to dry plastic materials, which are installed on the drying hopper directly. It also can collocate with collective hoppers to work on the inlet of the injection moulding machine. After setting, the machine can work automatically and independently without frequent adjustment. For its high installing position, it may give shortage alarm occasionally. Therefore, it’s available to equip the distal switch options to dismiss the alarm, customer has the choice of either the 1Phase or 3Phase according to customers requirements.
"Standard" separate-vacuum hopper loaders are suitable for conveying material over long distance. All models adopt stainless steel hopper to ensure no contamination to raw material. High efficiency high pressure blower features light weighted, durable, great suction power, easy installation and operation.
Mould Temperature Heaters are used to heat up the mould and maintain temperature, and also they can be used in other similar applications. This series of machines can use oil or water as heat transfer media according to different production processes, as to adapt to different production conditions. Besides, this series of models have multiple options and accessories to meet different production demands.
Conveyors are mainly used for the transporting of Products and different types of materials from point A to point B. We offer all different types and sizes of conveyors to suit the customers/clients needs along with Different belts fitted to customer specification. Most Conveyors are used for Automation Purposes to improve the production process, Quality, Efficiency and also plays a part on the Production/packaging time.
Series low-speed granulators have paddle blades and staggered blades design for customer selection. They are mainly used for granulating sprues or rejects fed by pickers or belt conveyors beside the moulding machines. They feature low speed, high torque, low noise and dust level, excellent quality and performance. Machines are built to comply with CE safety standards.
Sound - Proof central granulators are suitable for centralized recycling of wastes or rejected parts from injection moulding, blow moulding or extrusion lines. The machines feature optimized structure, easy operation, and quick blade replacement. Staggered rotating blades can easily grab and cut through materials. This design makes the machine work more efficiently and can reduce waste of energy to the min. This granulator has various models with wide application range to meet different customer’s demand.
Single-shaft shredders is a newly developed product. It can shred extra thick, tough and large solid materials. It can be applied in wide range, for example, recycling all kinds of materials, such as plastic, rubber and wood. The waste materials which are produced by the Injection Moulding Machine, blow moulding or extrusion moulding are also included.
Water Flow Regulators are designed to work with mould heaters, water chillers and cooling towers, which can be connected to more than one mould connectors. They have the function like temperature and flowrate displays, flowrate control in order to meet the requirements of different working conditions. Modularized combination ensures convenient installation and maintenance. It is indispensable in modern plastic industry to improve its moulding efficiency.
PMS Plastics was founded by Irish born Philip May in 1989, after having immigrated to South Africa with his best friend Steven from Ireland the two serviced and repaired Injection Moulding Machines around the country. It was not long before they were very much in demand and the small company was growing.
However, tragedy struck in 1993 when Steven was killed in a car crash. It was a huge loss and Steven is still missed to this day.
It was then that Philip decided to bring on more technicians and he started refurbishing Used Injection Moulding Machines for resale and found great success in trading in old machines for refurbished machines.
In 1996 PMS Plastics started representing International Machine suppliers in South Africa BOY Gmbh Germany being the first which was another milestone and we are very proud to represent a company such as BOY Gmbh for all these years.
Over the years we were approached by more and more Machinery and Equipment suppliers to represent them in South Africa. Philip and wife Samantha have been very selective in what companies to represent based on a very strict criteria; quality workmanship, hydraulic and electronic parts and systems used on their machines, reputation around the World and most importantly back up service for their Agencies.
LG Machinery Korea was our next Injection Moulding Machine Supplier and we have supplied and installed many of their Machines in South Africa and Africa. The biggest of which was over 2500 Tons!
Nissei Japan and GEK Machinery soon followed giving us a Portfolio to suite all businesses and pockets whilst never wavering on quality and reliability.
Over the years we also aligned with Ancillary Equipment suppliers so that we were able to offer complete Turnkey Solutions to our customers one specific company being Ferlin Systems from the Netherlands have been a huge asset to us with their quality material weighing and conveying systems.
Our staff compliment increased as the company grew and during this time Philip had expanded from simply refurbishing machines to upgrading them with PLC Systems and not long after retrofitting machines with Servo Systems for Energy saving! He trained up young men to become Technicians and who are now very successful in the industry. We decided to go further and expand our Portfolio to Blow Moulding Machines, we approached Parker Plastic Machinery to collaborate with us and we now proudly represent one of the best Blow Moulding Machinery Companies in the World! Our customer base expanded and with it our reputation as a company that strives for quality machinery and after sales service.
